Dr. Ebru Karatas Acer is a teaching assistant at Ghent University, Department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication, Turkish section and a Ph.D. student at Ghent University, Department of Marketing, Innovation and Organization. She also holds a Ph.D. degree from Educational Administration and Supervision Program at Gazi University, Turkey. She was a visiting scholar at the Department of Educational Administration and
Policy Studies (EAPS) at University at Albany (SUNY) in the US. Since she moved to Belgium, she raised interest on the integration issues of immigrant communities, and she initiated some local projects to help the language development of children of Turkish origin and their academic achievement.

Program funded by Czech Republic, SALTO T&C and the Czech National Agency, Czech
